Games that let you destroy any website
Three games let you destroy a real website: Kick Ass, a bookmarklet that flies an Asteroids-style ship over the page; Destroy Any Website, a browser game that loads a URL you type in; and Tabzooka, a Chrome extension that drops a jetpack hero onto the page you already have open. None of them change the real site.

Kick Ass: the original website destroyer
Kick Ass has been around since 2010, when WIRED covered it as the bookmarklet that turns the web into Asteroids. You drag a button to your bookmarks bar, open any site, click it, and a small ship appears that you fly around shooting text and images off the page.
It has highscores, achievements and hundreds of ships, including ones you design yourself in its editor. Because it’s a bookmarklet, there’s nothing to install, which is also why it can be a little fragile on modern sites.
Destroy Any Website: type a URL, get a level
Destroy Any Website, released in September 2026 by Hugo Duprez and Sprite Fusion, works from its own page. You enter a website address and it becomes a destructible stickman level. You get weapons like a pistol, SMG, shotgun and rocket launcher, and you can open a room for up to 5 friends.
The trade-off is that it loads a copy of the site through its own page, so sites protected by Cloudflare or a login can fail to load.
Tabzooka: a platformer on the page you’re reading
Tabzooka is a Chrome extension. Instead of loading a copy, it runs on the tab you already have open: press Alt+Shift+Z and a jetpack hero lands on the page. Headlines, images, buttons and cookie banners become solid platforms and targets, so you can stand on them, build crates on them and knock them loose.
It goes further into “game” than the other two: 12 heroes with 84 weapons between them, 5 modes including boss waves and Floor Is Lava, a global top-20 leaderboard per mode, and multiplayer for up to 6 players. Two heroes and two modes are free. When you close it, the page goes back to normal.

If you want a two-minute stress reliever on any computer, Kick Ass is the classic. If you want to wreck a site you don’t have open, Destroy Any Website is quickest. If you want something to come back to, with heroes, bosses and friends on the same page, that’s what Tabzooka was built for. You can see it in the 18-second trailer.
Is it safe to “destroy” a website?
Yes. All three only change what your own browser shows. The real website, its server and everyone else’s view stay exactly the same, and reloading the page brings it back. Tabzooka asks for three Chrome permissions (activeTab, scripting and storage) and no host permissions, so it can only touch the tab you start it on.
A short history of wrecking web pages
The idea is older than most of today’s websites. Kick Ass went viral in 2010 because it flipped how people saw a page: not as a document, but as a playground made of boxes you could shoot. Every page is built from rectangles (headings, paragraphs, images, buttons), and once a game knows where those rectangles sit, it can treat them as walls, floors and targets.
The three games here take that same idea in different directions. Kick Ass keeps it arcade-simple. Destroy Any Website makes it a quick shooter you can share with friends. Tabzooka turns it into a full platformer with heroes, levels and bosses.
What you can actually do in Tabzooka
Each hero has 7 weapons of their own, so the way you wreck a page changes with who you pick:
- Zook (free) carries a Blaster, Cluster Grenades and a Rocket Launcher, and carries 5 fast grenades instead of 3.
- Brick (free) swings a Sledgehammer, fires a Nail Gun and calls in a Wrecking Ball as his Special.
- Rex fires a Duck Launcher and Egg Bombs, and takes no fall damage.
- Captain Kaboom brings a Blunderbuss, a Mortar and a Powder Keg, with bigger explosions than anyone else.
Every hero also has a Special that charges as you destroy things (about 14 elements fills it) and two tools they build into the page, like Zook’s Launch Pad and Auto-Turret or Glitch’s Portal Pair. You can press B to drop wooden crates and stack them into towers. Crates burn and break, and when one goes, everything stacked on top of it comes down.
The best pages to destroy
- News sites are the classic: big headline photos shatter into shards, and there’s always a cookie banner to shoot.
- Dense dashboards and shops are full of small elements, which is great for chaining combos.
- Your own website is oddly satisfying, and it’s the best way to see how a page is put together.
Tabzooka also ships with 5 arenas made for wrecking: The Daily Wreck (a news site), a Glass Museum full of paintings that shatter, a dense Server Farm, the 26-floor Sky Tower, and PapaMarks. They work even when you don’t want to touch the page you were reading.
Tips for a bigger mess
- Save your Special for the densest part of the page; it hits harder than any normal weapon.
- Knock out the element at the bottom of a stack. Whatever sits on it collapses too.
- Explosions hurt you as well, so keep a little distance from your own rockets and dynamite.
- Try Target Rush when free wrecking gets old: some elements get marked, and you have to destroy them before the clock runs out.
Kick Ass and Destroy Any Website, up close
Kick Ass leans into collecting: you rank up and earn XP through achievements, switch between hundreds of ships mid-game, and design your own ship in its editor. There’s also an iOS app if you want to destroy websites on an iPhone, which none of the other games here offer.
Destroy Any Website is built for quick sharing. Its weapons are the ones you’d expect from a shooter (pistol, SMG, shotgun, rocket launcher and more), and its makers suggest everything from Wikipedia to your own homepage as targets. Because you type the URL in, you can wreck a site you don’t even have open, and a friend can join the same room to fight you on it.
Common questions before you pick
Will it work on any website? Mostly. Kick Ass and Tabzooka run on the page you already have open, so they work on most normal sites but not on browser pages Chrome protects. Destroy Any Website has to load the site itself, so pages behind a login or bot protection can fail.
Can I play on my phone? Kick Ass has an iOS app. Destroy Any Website is focused on desktop browsers with a keyboard and mouse. Tabzooka is a Chrome extension, which means desktop Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook.
Which is best with friends? Destroy Any Website lets you open a room for up to 5 friends. Tabzooka supports up to 6 players with co-op, brawl, 1v1 and team modes, and games on the same Wi-Fi need no codes at all.
Why people love destroying websites
Part of it is simple stress relief: a slow-loading page, an endless cookie banner or a pop-up that won’t close is very satisfying to blow up. Part of it is novelty. You see the same sites every day, and turning one into a level makes it new again. And part of it is curiosity, because watching a page fall apart shows you how it was built, box by box.
That’s also why these games spread through screenshots and short videos: everyone recognises the page, so a clip of it shattering explains itself in a second.
Questions people ask
Does destroying a website break it for other people?
No. These games only change the copy of the page in your own browser. Nobody else sees it, and the real site is untouched.
Is there a destroy-website game that works as a Chrome extension?
Yes. Tabzooka is a Chrome extension: open any normal website and press Alt+Shift+Z, or click its toolbar icon, to turn that page into a level.
Which website destroyer is free?
Kick Ass and Destroy Any Website are free. Tabzooka is free to play with 2 heroes and 2 modes; Pro adds more heroes and modes.
