Browser games to play with friends, free
The best free browser games to play with friends are skribbl.io (up to 20 players) and Gartic Phone (up to 50) for drawing and guessing, Shell Shockers and Krunker for shooting, and Destroy Any Website for wrecking a page together. Tabzooka adds co-op boss fights on any website for up to 6 players, free on the same Wi-Fi.

The quick answer, in one table
Every game here is free, runs in a browser tab, and lets you play with specific friends rather than only strangers. We checked each one in October 2026.
| Game | Players per room | How friends join | Account |
|---|---|---|---|
| skribbl.io | 2 to 20 | Invite link | Nickname only |
| Gartic Phone | 4 to 50 (14 by default) | Invite link | None |
| Shell Shockers | Varies by map | Invite code or link | None |
| Krunker | 6 as a guest, 10 with a free account | Link to a private server | Optional |
| Destroy Any Website | Up to 5 | Invite link or 6-character code | None |
| The Great Ghoul Duel | 8 (4 vs 4) | Invite link | None |
| Tabzooka | Up to 6 | Same Wi-Fi: click Join. Anywhere: 5-letter code | None |
Drawing and guessing games
These are the safest pick for a mixed group, because nobody needs gaming skills and a round is over in a few minutes.
- skribbl.io: one player draws, the rest race to guess the word. Create a private room, set it to anything from 2 to 20 players, and send the link. You can paste your own words, which makes in-jokes very effective.
- Gartic Phone: everyone writes a sentence, then draws someone else’s sentence, then describes someone else’s drawing. By the end of the chain the results are nothing like the start. The host can set the room anywhere from 4 to 50 players, and there are other modes like Animation and Story.
Shooters you can play in a tab
- Shell Shockers: a first-person shooter where everyone is an egg. Choose Private Games, then Create, pick a map and mode, and share the invite code. The host can lock the lobby once everyone is in.
- Krunker: a fast, blocky shooter. Host Game makes a custom server, and switching on Private hides it from the public list so only people with your link get in. Guests can host up to 6 players and a free account raises that to 10, according to the Krunker community wiki.
Wreck a website together
This category is new, and it’s the most fun to watch. Everyone gets the same web page as a level, and the page falls apart around you.
- Destroy Any Website went viral in September 2026. One person opens a private room, everyone loads the same URL, and it’s a race to the room’s target score. Rooms hold up to 5 players, and guests can join. Our Destroy Any Website guide covers the controls.
- Tabzooka is our Chrome extension, and it plays on the page you already have open. Up to 6 players share the page in Co-op, Brawl, 1v1 or Teams, each on their own computer with their own hero.
Pick by group size
| Your group | Try |
|---|---|
| 2 players | Tabzooka 1v1, or a Krunker private server |
| 3 to 6 | Tabzooka co-op Web Invasion, Destroy Any Website, Shell Shockers |
| 8 | The Great Ghoul Duel, four against four |
| 10 to 20 | skribbl.io |
| A whole class or party | Gartic Phone, up to 50 |
Same room or different houses?
If you’re all in one place, sit where you can see each other’s screens; half the fun of a drawing game is the reactions. On the same Wi-Fi, Tabzooka finds the game for you: one person clicks Host on this Wi-Fi and everyone else sees it under Games on your Wi-Fi and clicks Join. There’s no code to read out, and it’s free. Our same-Wi-Fi guide has the details and the fixes for when a game doesn’t show up.
If you’re in different places, start a voice call first, on Discord or whatever you already use, then send the game link in the chat. Every game in the table above works this way. In Tabzooka that means an online room with a 5-letter code, which comes with Pro.
What makes Tabzooka different with friends
Most browser multiplayer games give you the same few maps. Tabzooka uses whatever web page the host has open, so a news site, a shop or your group chat’s favourite meme page becomes a different level every time. When the host starts a mode or a level, everyone in the room follows.
- Co-op Web Invasion is the crowd favourite: waves of creatures crawl out of the page, with a boss every third wave. More players bring more and tougher creatures.
- Brawl is everyone against everyone while the page collapses around you.
- Teams splits the room into Red and Blue, up to 3 a side, and teammates can’t hurt each other.
- Floor Is Lava becomes a race to the top of the page, and the lava rises faster with a fuller room.
The free version includes two heroes, Free Play, Target Rush and same-Wi-Fi games for up to 6. When a Pro player hosts a same-Wi-Fi game and starts a Pro mode, friends on the free version play it too. Add Tabzooka to Chrome, or watch the 18-second trailer first.
Games that don’t work for friends
Slither.io is one of the most popular browser games ever, but it only has public servers. There are no private rooms and no invites, so you can’t choose who you play with. Sites that promise “Slither.io private servers” rely on mods or copies of the game, and we wouldn’t install those.
